Getting a knee down on the road serves little purpose ...except fun.

If you haven't and you are trying....
I would suggest following the advice given to me by Keith Code (twist of the wrist, Calf. Superbike School)

It's not about leaning the bike over....it's about transfering your weight to keep the bike more upright in the curve. The closer to upright the bike is the faster, (and easier) it is to make the curve.
So you are actually holding the bike up when you're hanging off far enough to drag your knee...not leaning over as far as you can.
If you are leaning over as far as possible to make a knee touch down....you're about to have a crash.

And (for me anyway) once you learn how it's done easily enough in a (empty) car park at 15 to 20 mph. Just be careful of those painted lines.

You can look like a right tool though trying to get you knee down, as these people have proven!:

Knee down for knee down sake = not cool.
Knee down because you are just going that fast = cool.

I didn’t have leathers/sliders the first time I did it either!! :D

It was on my CB100N … {google-fu} looked just like this, the bike that is, not me!! (I loved that little bike):-

Anyway, mine was more premeditated than yours though … realising if I was gonna try and do it and that I needed some sliders, I actually duck-taped some leather welding gloves (my mate was a welder and he ‘borrowed’ some from work) to my jeans!!

When I first got touch down it ‘grabbed’ like hell, but I didn’t care, I had got my kneedown :)

Don’t think I bothered trying again for years after that initial kneedown 8)

Good work my man! KD's are so easy once you know what to do. To be honest I dont' do them so much as I know I can do them. If that makes any sense. However, if there is another bike about I do like to show off.

There rarely a route on the road I know well enough to be able to do it, and most roundabouts are to likely to have diesel, bumps or holes on. Can scrape most corners on the C&F buts that the only road I know well enough really that warrants it.

On the track it happens without trying, you scrape some corner without hanging off much and then begin to wonder how cranked over you are.

Oh, I got both peg and knee down too, I have different pegs on though which don't have hero blobs and they are less wide as well. Give pretty good ground clearance.
