Got my GHD's back in 2006, before then i had a pair of straighters about every 6 months.

If this pair breaks............ i shall be buying another pair!

Expect them to pack up at 13 months. the daughter has had two pairs go just outside the warranty period.

Kodo's are good and they do them in Purple. A few of my friends have them that have also had GHD's and swear by Kodo's.

They are the best you can get!!

However, they used to have an issue with the thermal fuse blowing after about 18 months. Its dead simple to change for a decent component. Vernas packed up about 2 years in (She doesnt use them every day). They apprently have now changed the component and this isnt a probelm any more but if it is, its a 69p fuse from maplins, some heat shrink and half hour out of your life.

Other than that, i know a fair few people that have them after using every other stirghtener on the market and they would never go back. A quote from the sister in law after using verns GHD's "Ah, now thats what all the fuss is about" and she isnt easily impressed. Just be aware theat there are now a couple of models, being different widths oh and colours etc!!

good nice lot of oppinions there. I think at worse they are over priced, at best they are better than sliced bread? good assesment?

thanks for that tip, Ive also read that the wire can get burnt through but there is a easy fix for that avaliable on ebay.
