Since there's 2 pages about the engine and 3 pages of carp to wade through, I'd understand Mark not wanting to keep updating this. What's the point?

Dry sump Chris, although got about a liter of oil out of the engine, and another out the tank, nothing much in it,it's very locallised.

Can someone explain to me what a "dry sump" actually means? I assume this means no oil in the sump, but that seems silly to me...

A wet sump uses the sump as the oil reservoir, which keeps things simple but means things can slosh about a bit, risking oil starvation, and leaves you with a big empty chamber poking out the bottom of the engine, limiting how low you can mount it.

A dry sump still has some oil in the sump as you'd hope, but the majority is pumped off to a separate reservoir for recirculation.
