You can't please all the people all the time. :)

Good luck, and i hope it all pans out well for you.

Easier said than done.

MBK, as others have said, I understand completely on the small communities & keeping yourself to yourself. Where I live now, everyone knows everything about everyone else.

I decided a long time ago that I just wasn't going to give a damn about other peoples opinions.

Chin up, you'll get there - small steps though & don't force yourself. :)

Who said anything about being rude?

Not your post Baph, ours were submitted at the same time.

I'd consider that an honest response rather than being rude.

I've used a similar phrase (including swearing) when talking to customers at work, and not had a disciplinary yet.

being rude is all that some people understand... it upsets them, which makes me smile as they have tried to upset me.

just to add.... i'm a well mannered person who is always polite etc. etc, unless people try and interfere with my life. i'm sorry but i cant let that happen. who are these people that have the right to interfere with other peoples lives, the type that dont like it when other people start talking about them...

I'm one of these people who is normally the butt of jokes, not in a nasty way, and I laugh it off and stuff, occasionally I have a little tantrum about it but most of the time I take it in a good way. I'm normally laughing, giggling and smiling.

I have a few good friends but I seem to be picking up the peices for them all the time and I never tell them what Im feeling or thinking....and because I clam up, they have given up asking now. And now I'm getting annoyed that no one is asking how im feeling but its my own stupid fault!

I've found in the past that all those little jokes that "don't matter" eventually build up to something that does affect you.

MBK, how are you today? (NB, feel free not to answer if you don't want to. :) )

I feel sh*t. I feel like, I dunno, that I want to curl up in to a little ball and disappear.

So do that then. :) Well, the disappearing act might be tricky, but try it, and if you manage, send me a PM & I'll be your manager - we'll make a mint. :D

Seriously, if you feel like curling up under the duvet (even though you probably won't sleep), do it. Instinct is rarely wrong, most people just have to learn to trust it.
