Yeah I was surprised when my drum teacher told me (playing it at a gig). Now I know and have re-read the lyrics it makes perfect sense

Floyd were great exponents of this. They would put whispers or dialogue all over their songs. If you listen to The Wall, the first track starts off really slow and quiet then goes off into the main song. The opening part is replayed at the end of the album and alomost at the end Rick Wright says "isn't this where we came in?" really quietly.


Oh yeah, to really "get" Pink Floyd, you sholud listen to them whilst stoned. Or pi55ed. Or both :D

I had the album on my walkman years ago when I was in Germany. Pi55ed up on weekends while out on Soltau. Sitting in the bridgelayer with a tinny and some 'Floyd. Those were the days!!!

I find I dont need any extras to get a load out of Floyd.

Heres a fun thing to try tho.

Get your copy of The Matrix, cue it up to 14minutes and 11 seconds ( just as Neo sees the agents for the 1st time after Morpheus calls him on the slidy-Nokia)

Now get your copy of "Wish you were here", press start on both the CD player and the DVD player

Sit back and enjoy...

Just spent some time with Movie Maker sorting this out - its pretty cool with the film audio-track and the music mixing, also cool with the Floyd music and the film video tho.
