Its a bit disappointing that they are planning on going for a 90* V... its too mainstream, besides Ducati do that.

Eh? What's with the Ducati comparison? Ducati just keep churning out V-twins - the only time they've released a V4 it cost the thick end of 40 grand so hardly relevant.

If you look where the top of the engine's V's are you can tell that with the air box off you can get to them. I think you'd be happy changing plugs. ;)

You mean like on an NC35?

Nope, that isn't easy and I'm not expecting the RSV4 to be either.

Druid

PS I saw one in the flesh at the MotoGP and it was very nice.

I love this justification! It's not expensive, because another bike costs 4 grand less! It would never fly with the missus ;)

Just without the extra weight and complexity of another set of barrels, top ends, valvetrain...

2009 R1: 206kg
2009 RSV4: 203kg

You may have a point there.

Aye and I fancied a bike that could do 20K miles with just oil changes and the odd set of plugs. Who in their right mind would want a Ducati for mile munching? he he

Indeed. But then wait till the standard one. It will be much closer to £11-12K and probably still be higher spec'd than the equipment on the R1...

I know... I had to do it though. For the honour of my bike. :p If I ever meet you...
