Easy for people to complain when it is not them that has to do all the work to keep the forum working. Try to remember maintenance and upkeep of the forum is done by people in their own spare time.

i really hope not. Surley out of the loght and dark you can choose one you like, no?

I assume the banner being the colous it is wouldnt look as good but TSM is the man with the technical answers.

I actually like the black. The bad bits are the quick reply box looks naff because it's white, a lot of the smilies just don't work on black, and I can see my reflection in the monitor!!

Well we could.

TBH we did try it like that on a test setup and it looked horrible. The black banner with the blue of the rest of the forum looked a right mess. It made the banner stick our like a sore thumb, with the black background it means the banner sits in better and gives a better overall theme for the page layout.

Personally I really like it. I didnt like Lucas' banner, but now its been seamlessly fitted in with a new colour scheme I really think it looks good.

If you are struggling with the white text on black, then try turning the contrast down on your monitor. I have sensitive eyes and it is a bit bright, drop the contrast or use the Dark Day setting and it does work.

Mind you I did grow up with MSDOS, so I am kind of used to the black background / white text...

I`ve gone back to old style , much prefer that for fast reading .
