The Astoria always seems loud to me, saw Fields of the Nephilim there years ago, could only tell the tube was arriving by the rush of warm air in front of it :)

Zodiac Mindwarp were also hugely loud there, but it didn't seem as loud when they played Hammersmith, so I think it's definitely the venue that helps!
