I only did that once and a scooter rider was the only person who offered assistance. I was only 200 yards from a petrol station so I didn't need the help but....I don't know, maybe I should nod at scooters too. Karma and all that.

I nod to all the riders I come across regardless of what they ride; although I do shake my head if I see someone in **** clothing. ATGALT. Going down to Paignton's a bloody nightmare! I'm sure I look mental. I'm starting to get a few back from the cruisers and Harleys (you heard it right folks) which is usually followed by a quick and discreet fistpump.

I always make a point of nodding and/or waving to the Emergency services as well, especially in Plymouth, as I figure you never know when they might just be the ones that save your life.

Doesn't say much about some of todays bikers in my opinion.

Aye, some of them are just out for themselves. Given how much of a minority we are on the roads, it's a shame that there's not more of a "give a hand" attitude. I've gone past several riders with problems and actively turned backed to check on them. Half the time, I can't do anything more than wish them luck but I like to think that those words helps them in some way.

Same when i was on my V50. I was riding a bike i restored from the early 70's, and i get no recognition for it :P

Get a fair few nods when im on the cbr125r which im suprised about. Everyone seems to knock it on forums :P

I wont nod to chopper/cruiser guys. They're always so dull behind the eyes :P L plates dont realy make a difference to me, unless their wearing trainers and trackies. Saw a guy on a rs just wearing shorts and a vest, with a cheap ass helmet. Did not return the nod

I was driving to Matlock Bath today and pulled over to stop a 125cc learner on the A6, he was driving a hyosong, all the electrics had cut and he couldn't get it to start. I had no clue so offered him a lift to somewhere close but his colleague was on his way so he declined.
But I have never seen a bike in such a bad condition in my life, it was all rusted, really bad, worse than that one posted on this forum not so long ago and was caked in crap all over. No surprise why it cut out i'm surprised it even worked in the first place.

Re: Bikers Nod

Used nod only to bikes without L plates then read an article about a woman who rode all year round, come rain or shine, on her moped and loved it, without feeling the need for a larger bike; the point being that she should be regarded more than the occasional 'summer use only', leather clad race boy. I tend to agree and will nod to everyone, although it's quite shocking how many 'leather clad race boys' will ignore you, and I can only think it's because I'm on an SV not an RR, S1000, Blade, Ducati, Mille, Gixr........

Option 3 for me. Bit of a bike snob. They don't do it to me. If I nod and said nod is not returned I find it rude and mutter in my lid!
