I'll put a note on the female of the species and cleaning
My brother rented a flat that was so bad, it took 3 people 2 days to even make it safe to enter. The landlord ended up giving my brother a months rent back due to the mess

Then there are the other female housemates who DO clean, without being asked and who dont make a drama out of it if you leave the loo seat up.

Trust me, I've seen more minging flats rented by men/boys than I have shared genders or by women only.

As others have said it's about finding the right person, not the right gender.

Oh man. Any girl who complains about the loo seat being up needs to be shot in the face.

Why is it that women should be able to walk into the toilet and always find the loo seat in the place they want it already, where as men always have to walk in, raise it, slash, then put it down again? How is that fair? Seriously, in this age of equality, how can that possibly be justified?

The correct answer is, men lift it up when they go in and women put it down when they go in. 50-50. And men are the ones having to do the lifting! Women only have to do the putting down (which they are very good at anyway).

The only other fair solution is to always leave it down and just rinse the whole thing out with male fluids, or remove it entirely, or provide a she-wee.

it's to do with:
1. walking in and looking down the loo and

2. the atomization of excrement during flushing.

You're talking about the top seat. I'm talking about the middle seat. That's the one I have, in my experience, suffered abuse for not putting down! Nobody puts the top seat down after taking a dump! You need to make sure the whole 12 inches has flushed away.

surely they want both seats down?

In my experience it's just the bottom seat they want down. It's normally either because they're too lazy to put it down themselves, or they're such plebs they've sat down on the seatless ring one too many times without looking. Seriously, people need to take responsibility for their own toilet seat arrangement.

always close the lid. have you seen how much spray actually goes in the air when you flush. that spray get all over the place, yes even in your toothbrush.

well, In MY experience... tbh in my experience they mostly want me to leave them alone and stop lurking in their toilets before they call the police but that's enough about that,
