No, that makes total sense- I said much the same thing earlier in this beast of a thread when I wtalking about the Sportecs, but from the other angle- they told me everything they were doing, and as a result I was getting totally overloaded with feedback and it made the front feel nervous to me- to a more experienced rider that'd be a great thing but for me it made me trust the front less, not more.

looks like the next front I get will be a Rennsport for my spare front :twisted: But that's only ever going toget to see the road between me and Knockhill.

Went for a spin on Sunday on my stock Dunlops. The first dry roads here for nearly 3 months :evil: I'm getting new tyres soon and they'll have to be good in the wet.

So, people who have Roadtec's - how are you finding them in the wet?

So far so good, my dunlops were getting to the point where just putting on a bit too much power would make the back end slither and slide...

The Z6's are much better, they feel quite even going into corners - as opposed to the d220s which seem to fall quickly into the bends, the z6's seem a bit smoother. (this might just be down to the fact that the dunlops were rather squared off). That said the z6's felt more assured even when they still had their shiny coating on.

I have had one VERY minor moment on the z6's, going round a bend and touched something slippy (diesel?) - anyway they gripped again before I even realised that they'd slipped, they were completely predictable and I didn't have that 'sick in the stomach' feeling I used to have with the dunlops .

I've been out in all weathers and on all kinds of roads - even over the occasional drain cover, they haven't given me anything to worry about.

In summary - no problems in the wet - even when it's dark and cold :-)

2000 Miles on the Z6's excellent grip in the dry and very good in the wet, These things are mint, and at the price! Wow. They still look like I have just put the things on.
Compared to the Bridgestones I would have to agree with Mark, they are as good as them, but if we can get double the milage out of them then that has got to be good. Avons forget it 4000miles and then they are dead!! Waste of money
Convinced my gouvernor to move from his old standard SV Mets to these, and so he has, he loves them as well.
I haven't managed to lose my footing with these, even in the last two weeks of coldish weather. Also i have just done 500 miles on the motorway on them, In very cold -2 weather and they have loads of grip and feeling to them.
Ermmm difficult one this one, which tyres will I be buying next, in what 11,000 miles time.

Well that's the end of the story!

130 miles today and the rubber mid tread (the bit with no pattern on it) has started to ripple, so a new rear tomorrow is on the menu.

although these tyres lost their edge about 500 miles back and I've been taking it easy, they have been predictable throughout their life.

Given the fact that the SV will be retired soon I'll stick another Z6 on the rear as the front still has some life left in it.

Now wait for it, total mileage ?

Now even I'm impressed with that, so impressed in fact that I'll probably fit a set to the speedtriple as well.

It must be worth a try, theymight want the old tyres as a display in their roadshows.

I feel very humble now, as I had a choice of any tyre and I went for Roadtechs

If I don't get 20000 out of mine I'm going to demand my money back :)

the only problem is the tyre looked fine before the ride, so gives you very little warning near the end of it's life.
