Not true, though they will attempt to regain any of their losses from you.

You would also be charged for not having a licence for the bike in question which will receive another charge.

Anyway i think this thread has done what it set out to do.

I dont think tis a good idea mate, keep it restricted, and learn how to go round corners smoothly and fast. then when the restricters come out in a years time (i think u said) then not only will you be fast in the corners, but it'll be good on the straights too.

Just as a follow on from this, im gonna have to have my SV restricted: Where can i purchase the restrictors from (i can get them fitted by my dad) and as i'll be doing my training when 20, do i still have to wait two years or can i take them out when im 21 (being that you can take a test on a full-powered machine when you are 21)?

Im thinking no on the latter question, but i just want to be sure.

Any Suzuki dealer should be able to get them for you, they are about £50 i think.

You need them fitted by a garage so they can stamp the certificate of installation that comes with the restrictors. Its a bit of a fuzzy area as the cert is not an official document. This has been asked before and its still up in the air.

No, If you become 21 before your 2 years are up you have to still take your test again to be un restricted, or just wait another year.

Thats what i did, i could not do the u turn on the 500 at first (nearly broke my arm twice) so i went for a resticted licence, 6months later i wanted to go to Europe so wanted to be unrestricted, took my test again and became un restricted. But i was already 22 when i got my original licence.
