No product sells itself. Its a misguided theory.

The closest you can get is a product or service that is a "no-brainer". The Benefits of having that product/service is so obvious, it doesnt need someone to sell it hard. But it still needs sales and marketing people to take it to market and get it noticed by the target audience against all the other competition.

Mobiles are great, but if someone doesn't want to answer it, they don't want to be disturbed! Goes for land-lines as well...
