Ouch, that's nasty news :( Fingies crossed on consultants giving better news.

Out of curiosity - I can understand doing anything bendy with a slipped disc is a no-no, but when that bit's settled down, could bike riding actually make arthritis worse? I can understand it being potentially uncomfortable (cold weather, when discs go and the like) but I can't see how it could actually accelerate arthritis?

I should point out that I'm not a doctor. BUT, I did watch an episode of Casualty once. And I got quite into Scrubs.

Ah now see Minimatt, that's trouble with the 'A' word - it's a degenerative condition. Not a slipped disc. In my case the A is now a real pain in the neck, my neck...it likes to break down the cartiledge...this causes bone friction and aggravates the nerves in the vicinity (in my case)...(I think I saw it on Dr Finley's Casebook!)

my mate had a serious off and shattered his hip, can't ride a bike ever again, but saw the funny side when i offered tthis alternative. Hope you do. Joking aside Stingo, thats serious stuff mate, I'm sure you'll find a way to do what ever you want.
