Another vote for Pan's Labyrinth here. Brilliant film with lots of layers of meaning. Considerable violence too, if that appeals to you.

Another couple of suggestions - not brand new but well worth watching.

The Machinist - Christian Bale thriller - very good!
Night Watch - Russian fantasy / horror film, if you're into that kind of thing.

so far the sequels this year have been pretty good:

Rocky VI
Pirates of the Carribean

actually spidey III was a bit pants...but Rambo IV looks good & yeah, can't wait for Die Hard IV.
