Loulou, I passed my test 7 months ago with a baby on the way. I am now 37, so your still too young for a midlife. Good luck to you and welcome.

Re: Hiya from a newbie!!

Bloody newbies clogging up my twisty roads :smt040 - I passed my bike test in April 1979, 5 days after my 17th birthday and before half of you lot were a glint in yer dad's eye. My bike test was a farce, I couldn't light the acetylene for the headlight cos my tinder box got damp, and then I nearly ran into the bloke walking in front with the red flag. It was raining on the morning of my test, as I listened to that nice Mr MacMillan telling us on the wireless that we'd never had it so good. I thought "You might not have, but I have to clamber aboard this velocipede decked out from head to foot in gaberdene and galoshes, mate. Never had it so good - you're having a laugh"

Welcome LouLou, I'm a newcomer to the site as well - stick around, the locals are friendly and the advice they give is excellent.

It's curvy, naked and blue, lowered (I'm only 5'2") and I can't actually ride it yet (have never ridden anything other than a pushbike so far lol) but I've got my DAS booked for the end of this month with my test on the 5th July so keep your fingers crossed for me!! I can't wait to get out on it 8-)

Hi LouLou, just joined myself today. Completed my DAS last month and picking up my SV on sunday :D You'll walk (well ride) the DAS, remember to practice ya U-Turns and Life Savers.... everything else is like your pushbike (well nearly!) :) Then the learning really starts!

Hey!
I'm 5ft 4 and struggle to get on my partners bike! Im a pillion but often think about doing my tests and getting my own bike but it seems scary!

I'm 5ft 8 with unfeasibly stumpy short legs. I struggle with every bike known to man. Watching me get on a Triumph Tiger 1050 has become the company spectator sport when I take them on test rides - last time they got a foot-stool out for me.
