Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
Keel haul the lot of 'em I say...then make 'em walk the plank!! And they can kiss the gunner's daughter before standeasy!!
As for Terry Tibbs - he's a character isn't he? :D Makes I laugh. |
Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
Good on you Razor. I work way too hard for my money to be funding such misdemeanours.

Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
I'd probably best stay ouy of this one or it'll put me in a bad mood for most of the day. ;)
I will say 'well done Razor' though. |
Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
Would have done exactly the same - well done.

Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
i'm generally more of a live and let live mentality - most of us aren't 100% squeeky clean, so i wouldn't be quick to snitch on someone else
that said though, i think their behaviour definitely warrants what you did. If they brag about their freeloading ways and act like tossers to other people, then they have to face the fact that karma will catch up with them! |
Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
Such intolerance on the good ship SV ORG. Whatever happened to the "live and let live" mentality...even if you are funding it from deductions from earnings?

Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
regardless to whether they're registered disabled or not (sore subject) if theyre behaving like that then they deserve everything they get!! Good on YA!!:D But as someone mentioned earlier about a woman down their street has a slight hobble being 'faking it' is a little uneducated I believe[-X...my wife is registered disabled due to a certain surgeon ****ing up an operation which should have been pretty straight forward, she now has to suffer with chronic nerve pain for the rest of her life and the ONLY thing that helps in any way (and its only 5% reduction of constant, never ending pain) is the old mary jane...try smoking that when youre tryin for a child!! I think not. That said, she struggles on with a smile hiding tears. If you saw her down the street you'd probably think 'oh yeah, another freeloader!!'. You couldnt be farther from the truth , so unless you know the person and that they ARE taking the pi55 best not to mention things like that as its bound to cause offence.
BTW - my wife works 40 hours a week in an office so she does at least pay taxes but she DOES claim disability/mobility benefits. rant over. |

The thing I hate about benefit fraud isn't that they're stealing from me- though they are. It's that they're stealing from the benefits pot that goes to help people who need it. If you take, say, a mobility grant or car that you don't need, someone else who does might not be getting it. Let's think outside the box for punishment. Lets say you claim money and support for a crippling injury for 5 years then get caught and proven to be on the take. You've had 5 years of support with no injury, maybe we should cripple you and you can do 5 years without support, you've already used yours up (sort of like Mark Thomas's idea that in the case of wrongful imprisonment, the victim should be given a shopping list of crimes they can commit. "Well sir, we owe you 10 years of prison- you may commit 3 large scale frauds, or 2 armed robberies..." |
Re: Grassing on your benefit fraud neighbours.
The problem is indeed very deep rooted, with massive numbers of people seeing the system as fair game to be cheated. Where did that kind of mentality come from?
Young girls going out and getting pregnant knowing that the state will provide for them? People working on the quiet when registered on the dole? All so wrong. Change the rules I say. If your on the dole, you aint out looking for work every day and evidence of job applications etc should be provided. Signing on at varying times EVERY day oif the week should also be introduced. If each branch of the Social Services,(sorry my terminology is likely to be off due to my prolonged absence) increased their team of investigators the investment would I am sure have an impact. Sadly, I think offering a "bounty" for the reporting of bogus claimants would be another incentive for people to speak up more. With an ever increasing life expectancy and record numbers of retired people in the years to come, these spongers and frauds are removing funds from the kitty that would provide services, facilities and income for those that have contributed via PAYE. The problem then must be stampoed out. But then again you might all be happy to see the % of your NI contributions constantly increase? |
