Went for a 120 mile and really enjoyed it. The SV is really at its best when speeded.

Maybe a little. But most people are adult enough to have a conversation on the internet without taking away any baggage. TBH I don't think there's any point in coddling people who will take mortal offence or hold grudges, they're going to do it anyway. The question is, should we limit the 95% or whatever who actually take part in these conversations without losing their sense of perspective to placate the 5% who really, seriously, need to grow up?

And if this topic's deemed unsuitable, what next? Practically any conversation can be contentious. How about that one about the guy on the roof being fed by police, with people talkign nonsense about the human rights act? That could kick off. Absolutely anything about stunting on the road, or speed cameras, they've got nasty in the past. You can't pad the site with cotton wool, there's always going to be some sharp edge that someone can cut their tender opinions on if they want to.

There's an al-Zarqawi topic on every site or list I frequent just now, this one's probably the most civil and reasoned I've seen- it's credit to the site that we can
approach a difficult subject and not all spit the dummy.

sometimes people do need to be wound up (just a little), not least because their complacent assumptions annoy me.

To be even more confused Filipe you need to go to the Carribbean - visit a 'British' island & you'll find that they drive American cars (left or rather WRONG hand drive) but they are supposed to drive on the left (or CORRECT) side of the road !! :shock:
