Thankfully you sound as though you came out quite lightly, which is great. GWS.
As for the bike, it can be fixed or replaced, it's you that you want to think about. It goes to show that wearing the right equipment can save you a lot of problems.

Glad you sounding good after a 70mph off, just stock up on pills for the next couple of weeks and be ready for the nickname 'Purple Grape' for a while :)

I really hate these kind of posts but am glad you are relatively unscathed. However diesel on surface and cold morning not withstanding....you must have grabbed a whole load of brake when travelling at 70mph to cause such a fall. Your luck in not being mowed over by another vehicle is incredible tbh.

Please have a think about the whole situation when you are able to. Stay SAFER.

Cheers guys, starting to feel like the "purple grape" already. Things are starting to ache, hands swelling and eyes coming up a bute. Got some nice painkillers so all good.

Only off work for a week (thats all can self certify, as A&E wouldn't give me a note or idea of length of time), So, got to go to the docs at the end of this week and see how I feel and see what happens.

If my hands are not much better there is no chance, as can't open a bottle of coke, let alone drive to work and operate a keyboard and mouse all day. (Although typing in the org is ok. lol)

I’m so glad your ok…
Let your wounds heal properly.
As bikers do we actually think about what we put our other half through every time we leave the house..?
Having the right kit helps as in your case your proper kit did it’s job.
A grand job keeping you safe…….

At 70 mph your guardian angle was keeping up with you...

Black ice is my bet, in a straight line not much else would bring you off.

I hit some last week, got the bike running straight again after a bit of fishtailing and put the sole of a boot down to check the surface, could have gone skating on it!

GWS and thank god you had a clean slide and your gear did it's job. Contact with something solid at 70mph would not have been pretty.
