Re: rearset replacement
Right, had a chance to get in my garage now that I'm home. Che, you were totally right about the lack of need for a return spring. I was talking carp.
Checked my own set out and realised that I had done exactly the same in the end and not bothered with one .....doh. :-) Well it was over 12 months ago when I fitted them :-) Having thought about it, the most likely reason there is a spring is to stop the brake light flashing on and off when the brake isnt being applied. |
Re: rearset replacement

Re: rearset replacement
Looking good. I think you mean the nuts on the shifter arm? Once you have it adjusted in a suitable position then tighten one lock nut against each end of the black arm itself. On the transmission end tighten the 2nd nut against the rose joint - ie towards the rubber cover.
Not sure if it's critical -but on the shift lever end of the shifter arm I instaled the other rubber cover on the rose joint. I had to trim the inner edge of it slightly to keep the joint moving freely, but I figured it was better to have it there and keeping road crap out of the rose joint, and and oil/grease in place. |
Re: rearset replacement
