Looks like you had a good day out! I've got to make the next one..

Was thinking about getting some stomp grips too. Where did you get em Mark?

Consequently am i right in saying that kerosene/paraffin is the way to go to remove the rust?

he picked em up at bikesafe, at the stall with me playing on the fake bike - the idea was to sit on that bike and it moved when you used the steerign so you could simulate riding and gripping the tank. The brake raised the back end too - my first endo!

I used paraffin.. worked a treat. But, I didn't oil it afterwards and it rusted again.. What a muppet!

Solution for me was a new gold chain & sprockets :-)

There was a stand selling them there for £30, which i'm not even sure was a good price. A search shows that is the RRP, oh well. :D

If you do get them make sure you get it for the right model/year as they are specific for each bike.

I use some mineral oil (so engine oil or 3-in-1) on a cloth. It comes off pretty easily. Parafin etc is for degreasing, so dont do that, as it wasnt dirty, just rusty. Once you have rubbed the oil in, just make sure it is coated all over, and that will stop the rust for next time. I find oil and a paiunt brush works well - better than chain wax at preventing rust, but will need applying more regularly.

My mission for tomorrow is to clean the chain. :)

Might as well do the whole bike as well.
