Sorry to hear you've had more trouble with your bike Nadine. :(

Try keeping the proverbial stiff upper lip( nothing to do with being a dirty stop-out :) ) and collect the bike ASAP.

Post some pics up then and those that know can assess the damage/expense.

So if you cannot collect your bike because the police need to do scenes of crime investigation on it, surely they should now be paying the storage costs? It is their fault you cannot collect the bike.

If you can get the police invoiced directly, hey might pay the tow charge to!

Looking at things there, you need a new yoke and some rewiring. The yoke is the most expensive part, not sure how much. As long as the wiring is not cut before the connector(as in on the controls side). +1 on what Pete has said, go down there and say look give me my bike back now! If they are charging you to keep it and they won't give it you back how do you win. Either they revoke your charges or give you your bike back!

Hi there, just been on the phone to the police again, explained very carefully that I feel not treated correctly, so they woman was very friendly and I will hopefully soon get a call back from the person who deals with the investigations...

As far as the storage costs go, the towing place said the police will cover that, as they are the ones holding the bike back. But I still have to pay the 105.

Annoying. Did I tell you that I dreamed a couple of weeks ago that my bike was stolen?

Try and get the ?105 revoked also from the Police. I was day dreaming the other day that I hadn't had a scare on the bike for a while and that things were going to well for me. Look what happened Thursday

(General question to all...) Surely the Police will charge the crims that robbed wherever for your ?105 and fixing costs anyway?

Looks like you need a new topyoke and lock. Perhaps some soldering if the wires have been chopped in the loom ...

Topyoke is easy to replace, if you did the generator, I have no doubt you can repair this DIY 8)

Nadine - I don't think they've broken or damaged the lock itself, just snipped the wires. You may well be able to resolder the wires together and keep the same key you had before and save the cost of a new ignition switch.

This may just cost you a replacement top yoke, because that certainly needs doing.
