My old chain had loads of adjustment left in it aswell. But it was still tired and old and due a replacment.

I'm gonna ask you a question now kurtis;

what do YOU think YOU should do about your chain and sprockets, given the replies and advice people have presented to you on this, and your other, thread?

Gonna stick my tuppence in here...

Just changed my C + S's as the old chain had a few tight links in it. The chain still had 4 adjustment bars remaining on the swing arm and the sprockets front and rear were fine. In fact I'm keeping them for handy spares. Apart from the tight links the bike didn't feel right at low speeds either and I just assumed it was a characteristic of the twin.

Now it's changed and I have new rubber on as well it's a different bike, and I mean a different bike. It's smooth, no jerking at low speeds, no snatching at roundabouts and has raised my confidence in traffic, especially filtering no end. I feel safer now on it than I ever have and now feel OK with it to take the missus out too.

From the pictures you've posted, your chain and especially your sprockets are in a far worse state than mine are. Do the right thing Kurtis, replace em all, you will not regret it.

If the chain came off the sprocket or it snapped try to imagine the aftermath. Not worth the risk mate IMHO.

Sorry for the bluntness of my post but....

lots of people on here have given you their opinion on your chain and sprocket. The overall opinion is "its shagged, change it"

You dont seem to want to take the comments on board, so why keep asking or trying to make out that your chain isnt as bad as it looks?

If you dont want to spend your money on something important for the sake of saving a few bob then fine. But your risk of an accident is significantly higher. It will be on your conscience not mine.

looks F**ked to me, if the back sprocket was that worn on mine, i'd just change the lot.

last thing i would want is waking up in hospital going "hmmm, at least i saved myself £100"

General Org concensus seems to be the same, Just do it !

If you don't want peoples opinions then don't ask for them in the first place.

why not, shes entitled to her opinion, which shes given, which matches the rest of the info in the thread thats been posted that you seem to happy to ignore in order to convince yourself that its OK not to change your chain and sprockets in order to save a few quid as you seem to give penny pinching a higher priority than your own safety...

I find it quite amusing that a girlie who doesn't ride her own bike appears to have a better grasp of how to maintain a vehicle safely than you do.

She's got a point, it looks f##ked, plenty of people have said that. If you want to risk it by just replacing the worst parts then go and do it, you don't need teachers permission first, so stop asking the same questions in the hope of receiving an answer which fits your preferred course of action better.

Best of luck

Chris
