Re: What did you do to your SV today?
Yesterday? I removed the front callipers and their pistons, found the dust seals were buggered and crystallised brake fluid was causing the brakes to stick slightly (and hence failed the MOT on Thursday). So, got me some seals on Friday and started the work yesterday. It was a ball ache getting the crystallised fluid off, but a micro screwdriver (as a pick) and soft steel/brass brushes helped. Anyway, just need to get some red rubber grease tomorrow and I'll rebuild her back up.
Today? I've half fitted the Daytona heated grips I got off ebay 18mths ago! I got it wired to the ignition cable but found I had no ring terminals to make a neat earth connection (another tomorrow task). I also have a broken ignition switch casing (well, the lug that stops it rotating), so I am hoping I can get hold of a replacement tomorrow too. Tomorrow? Go for a ride... :thumleft: |

Rode it for 220 miles.. a neighbour apparently complained as I let the bike idle for a minute while I stuck my lid and gloves on.. hehe.
Tommorow will go and get another task disk (fell off today :() and a new holder most likely, and then clean it.. |
Re: What did you do to your SV today?
Put new chain on it. Thanks to some useful advice from a post last week. Chain split (grinder) and new one rivet on. Job done.

Re: What did you do to your SV today?
Finally fitted a new Tsubaki drive Chain, and pair of JT sprockets, 6 months after buying 'em (thank's for the recommendation YC) took the opportunity to remove the swing-arm, clean-out and re-pack the needle rollers with new grease in both the swing arm & suspension rocker, and replaced the exhaust system with a shiny low mileage unit....
Grateful thanks to Nobby for the use of his garage for the afternoon and also for providing a much needed pair of hands & constant cups of delicious coffee...cheers matey:thumbsup: |
