lol, well its used in veterinary practice a lot on cats and I was shown a tiny vial and told 'thats worth £500 on the street'....needless to say I refused to be 'keeper of one of the two keys' needed to simultaneously access the dangerous drugs cabinet after that!

I say legalize them both. (drugs and prostitution)
Why should people become criminals for wanting to have fun? You are not hurting anybody by getting yourself high, it's your own choice and as long as you can control it, there's no reason for drug use to interfere with family or work. Alcohol is far more addictive then most drugs (except I believe crack smack and meth), so easy to get hold of and cheap enough to spend your whole day wasted for very little money but are we all p1ssheads? The main trouble with drugs is the people that sell them.. but if the industry was legalized and regulated it would be businessmen not villains running the supply.. err may have shot myself in the foot there..
Don't know a lot about the sex trade, but I reckon if that too was legalized, and again well regulated working girls would be treated fairly, covered by employment laws, customers would be safer too and I guess it would stop/slow down the trafficing off illegal immigrants to be forced to work in brothels as slaves effectively.

But what do I know anyway

In my unfortunate experience the main trouble with drugs is that they cause people to become unnaturally strong, aggressive and highly addicted to something that is much more expensive than alcohol...then they turn to crime to fund their habit.

Now I'VE probably shot myself in the foot and I'm sure that a lot of people will disagree but this is only through what I have experienced personally at work.

Too many foreign drugs tourists. Here's an article about the dutch coffee shops and the changing attitude. http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/re...policy-may-end

Mmm, I don't think that's a good approach- you've got the law, you either enforce it or you don't. What's the point in a law you don't enforce? It introduces uncertainty and the risk of uneven enforcement (people getting arrested for an offence in one area that's tolerated 10 miles away in a different force) and also, it encourages disrespecting/ignoring the law (since people see one law being ignored and ask, what other laws can I ignore). The law and the way the law is enforced should be the same, if a law doesn't work it should be changed not just quietly ignored.

IMO ;)
