Just been up to Galloway and picked up a bottle of Bladnoch 16 year old at the distillery, bottle of Bruichladdich Peated at the Spirit of Galloway shop in Castle Douglas.

Also went from famine to feast this weekend when I picked up a 16 year old Lagavulin and the bottle of 12 year old Glenlivet for taking some photos for a family friend.

To cap it all I wound up laughing again at Whisky Galore on BBC4 on Saturday night

The guys in Castle Douglas at spirit of Galloway have regular tasting sessions every 6 weeks they were telling me when I was there so worth a run down there

No, but I have tried that - I found out it was this bottle of Hakushu: http://www.royalmilewhiskies.com/pro...=0010000019285 - really nice stuff!!

Also, I've just been up to Glencoe for the weekend and expanded my horizons a little - I think between us we probably tried around 40 different malts, some of them cask strength. We even made our own tasting notes in my mate's whisky book so we could remember what the hell we'd tried! :lol:

Couple of my favourites were:

Macallan 15yo - apparently quite rare now but absolutely stunning!
Bunnahabhain Cask Strength - can't remember how old this one was, nor how to pronounce it's name properly! :lol:

well im about to have some glenfiddich 12 (1 guess where that came from) but the only true great single malt is BUSHMILLS 30

The OP was about whisky not whiskey :p though Bushmills is pretty good stuff.

well, you're whiskey is safe as far as I'm concerned. I used to like single malts, but my tastes have changed. Now i only like clear spirits, that don't give me a hangover from hell.
But each to their own :rolleyes:

Can I come and visit please? :D I don't see 18yo Macallan these days, it is one of my top malts, where did you get it? Are you Scots keeping the good stuff for yourselves? Treated myself to some Bowmore the other day, I feel a dram coming on.
