Re: Speed trap
If your gonna get booked it'd be all the easier to take if it was a female officer, hell I'd go willingily ;)
We've all seen the police speed vans marked but hidden out of view, its a sickener but its clearly a more cost effective way to police a stretch of road which is prone to speeders, the alternative is sending a patrol car which then increases the chance of a highspeed pursuit on an already dangerous road. I for one am thumbs up for them on this basis alone. (besides, if you pass the van parked up your usually clear for the rest of the run ;)) Obviously the ANPR has to be discrete, even the dumbest crim isnt going to drive a nicked/uninsured/AoT car past a marked car parked up at the side of the road. Speeding can be accidental or even intentional without been wreckless so some people can feel hard-done by with a prosicution and I sympathise but failure to insure a vehicle usually suggests other illegal activity is also taken lightly by the occupant. Also the police obviously antisipate a pursuit hence the RS and the bike, but even tier presance I see as a deterrant I mean you'd have to be pretty desperate to see those in your mirror and still think your best option was to go for it. |
