I will look into amending the hand gaurds though, or trying something else, that wont foul against the fairing (i have a 1999 curvy S)

Watch out, take them off for MOT's, they will fail you for them, as they restrict the bars movement.

Find a good tester and get an advisory :)

this is why I initially took them off.

It may be that its just my SV, its a little bent since i put on second hand bits (although a lot more straight than the crash-damaged items that came off :lol:)

Mine were ok on my bike but I do have an ABM comfort kit fitted and I only fit the Handguards between October and March , they are then removed for the rest of the year .

If you ride your bike through winter, it helps to rinse it off with cold, clean water every night at least when there is salt and its been raining.

Might be good to strip and clean the brakes before and after winter aswell :) and do an oil change either side of winter, all those cold starts treat the oil badly

Ooooo and get an optimate, just incase you do need to charge the battery because its cooold

Ummm if its a curvy, run V-power fuel through the winter, it'll help fight off carb icing until the bike is warmed up enough for the carb heaters to do their job

Rinsing salt of your bike in Surbighton?

fender extender !

winter gloves!!!!!, i learnd the hard way as i couldent move my hands when riding in snow with race gloves "never again"

good boots with good grip if its icy then you need to be able to grip the ground or you will be doing the splits in no time

also i advise some of the plastic water proof clothes rst ones are good can fit leathers under them with knee sliders.

And adding a huge lump of plastic to the knee that could also cause more damage if you crash , personally I don`t think Leathers make good winter riding gear in the slightest , and I`m talking about a proper journey over distance as well over many hours by the way .

^^^ because i carnt be botherd to take them off and if its raining in the summer and i get caught out then they fit over my leathers so dont need to worry about taking them off
