Re: Bad Weather Visibility
Seemed to do a good day today while riding through fog with visor fully down

Re: Bad Weather Visibility
I found I get the best result with Clarity if I spread the drops over the visor with my finger, leave it for a few minutes then buff gently with a decent cloth.
Its a bit mercenary putting the price up by 50% as soon as a few bikers show an interest. Maybe if it proves popular it will be stocked by motorbike shops and the price will come down again. I'm sticking with clarity as my Givi visor is huge and inserts don't give enough coverage, although at £6 a bottle if I had a standard visor and was on a budget I might not, as J&S are selling an antifog insert made by Held for just £8, and a good insert can last a couple of years in my experience. I have not used a Held insert so can't say if its good or not. Has anyone else had success or failure with Clarity. |

Re: Bad Weather Visibility
I'm re-raising this thread as the cooler weather is on it's way.
Last Thursday I had to stay late at work, it was about 20:45 by the time I left, having worked all day without an adequate break. :-({|= Now it'd not only been some time since I'd ridden in the dark, but it was my first day (if you don't count 10 miles the day before for MOT) back on the bike since my off at the beginning of June, so wasn't all to happy at riding home in the dark, rain and mist, somewhat tired and hungry. The pinlock in my lid does it's job well, but the last time I bought one from J&S I was nearly sick on the counter - it was about £25. I remembered this thread, searched, bought and had delivered some of the DeFog It solution - (they actually sent a stick of antifog something else first, that they let me keep, but that most definitely doesn't do what it says on the tin). All I can say is, if you have issues with fogging up, or, if like me, you've been satisfied with a pinlock for a while, this stuff is a sight revelation. It changes your field of view immensely, and I'd really recommend it. I just wish I'd not been so stubborn previously, as it would have made those last few months of riding up to my accident all the more pleasurable. If I knew anyone that regularly travels to the US that could sort out getting some at better prices, I'd stock up and offer to the org at cost, sadly I don't though. |
Re: Bad Weather Visibility
Silicone spray does for me,clean visor and apply, leave overnight and buff up in the morning. Cheap as chips, lasts for ages and I am still using the can of AUTOGLM silicone spray I bought 3 years ago

Re: Bad Weather Visibility
Chris,I don't know as the label has now come off the can with age. I use it on my screen as well. Basically silicone is a water repellent and I have sprayed my old textile suit with it before now and that worked. I just don't like spending money on branded goods that probably are silicone based anyway. Such a cheapskate I could be a Yorkshireman:)
