I wouldn't do it in PJ's ( they are far to embarrasing for that) but have done it in full show gear - with feather boas peeking out from under my short coat.
Think they have got used to me now though - still raises a few eyebrows

In my late teens a group of friends and I would occasionally descend on one of the local diners on a Sunday morning for breakfast, wearing PJ's, & housecoats etc.
