Re: Gearing for faster acceleration?
Just to throw my two pence in as well, I've been running my sv on 14/46 for the last couple of weekends racing at Cadwell. I'm not the fastest on track and so far I've only hit the limiter in top once on the straight and the max speedo reading (measured by tyre OD X wheels revolutions) showed a fraction under 120mph. The standard chain goes on but needs very little adjustment to take up slack. Never had a problem with wheelies off the line or in a straight line, only going up the mountain, but I'm about 15st fully loaded so there's plenty of load keeping the front down when I get my weight over it.

Re: Gearing for faster acceleration?
I hit 120 on the way back from lancaster last week, and feck me the wind force is immense, i now understand why bikers wear earplugs to cope with all the noise.
I could not sustain those speeds for long at all, and going even quicker just didnt interest me. |
