Easier? IF you change the clocks you have altered the time anyway and whether is is light or dark you will always have a difference in latitude sunset/sunrise i.e north to south
Changing time locally for start/finish alleviates the local problem and before anybody mentions it you will always have different world times.
It isn't all that long ago that Britain had different times in different regions[100+yrs] .The main reason for change was so that trains could arrive/depart and you kept your watch the same time.
Irrelevant whether you move time forward or back on a clock, no two regions/countries/continents are the same, there is always a difference,be it seconds minutes ,hours, or even a whole day.
I never have or will understand why it is done

Hope this goes forward, any more daylight in the evening would be awesome, and it always feels like a waste in the height of summer when the day starts at 4am. Oh and I'm already driving to work in the dark anyway!

Youre not going to get any more light. Think about it and look outside. The days will still get shorter and longer, thats not necessatated by time, but soloar/lunar patterns. You may gain an extra half hour of light in real terms at certain times of the year.

Its a whole load of hulabaloo if you ask me. Leave it as it is and quit yah whinging, the lot of ya. I like the dark winters, they are great

They had a picture taken in harlow down south, a picture in liverpool and one in glasgow - harlow had a nice bright red sky and the sun was almost up, liverpool was still very dull with the street lights on and glasgow looked like the middle of the night - all the pictures were taken at 7.30am and emailed/txt'd in to the news.

I was surprised just how much of a variation there was...

I remember when I was younger my Father being on the phone to my Auntie, we lived in Beachley (near Chepstow, the eastern edge of East Wales) and my Auntie lived in London, anyway, it took 13 minutes for the "sun set" to cover the distance between our houses and they are pretty much on the same geographic horizon

you wont literally get more light, but GMT+1 means that the sunsets at say 6.30pm and not 5.30pm. Fine the sun will rise an hour later, but wouldn't you rather have more daylight in the evening than the morning.

People do a lot more stuff around that time of day, and light would be useful, be it footy/park picnics/anything outdoors basically. I don't really mind if the sun comes out an hour later in the morning, cos we'll get it for longer at a better time.
