Keep an eye out on ebay Dave, i seen a really nice condition kwak klx 250 off road type bike go for £700 late last year.

I had a quick look at a few reviews on of that bike. Disastrous reliability, I would need something I can count on to start in the morning day in day out. Chinese bikes don't have the best reputation as a whole.

Dunno anything about chinese bikes, but a recent Bike test suggested some brands are getting much better and although not as good as the Jap equivalents, the Jap bikes were not a couple of thousand pounds better. Hyosung's etc seem to be pretty popular with commuters now.

They're a Korean company....I think there is a decent 250 equivalent to the Ninja 250 that they make which is fairly cheap for what it is...I wonder if they do off road....
