Couldn't agree more; never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I think the great thing about the SV650 is it has usable power; it's such a great little package. You see these BMWS1000R's and Aprilia RSV4APRCUEGNEIWP's pushing 200bhp for the road - what's the point?

The SV650 is a very capable package, I've left my mate behind a few times, and he rides an '05 GSXR750. My advice would be to just get the bike run-in, and then see what you really need from it.

your getting your back up at plain confusion... you admit to rarely going about 5500 revs.. but claim its gutless.. and we all understand the running it in perfectly... but just the same as going around in any fast car on tickover your not using the best part of the powerband of the bike.

Wait til youve run the sv in before you decide how gutless it is. Just stop insulting everyone who know this bike better than your own fannying around on it on low revs has allowed you..

the sv is not a very powerful bike.. it wasnt designed to be an over powerful bike, though it still can kick its heels up. youve alienated a few people that tried to tell you... you cant tweak a screw and turn it into a R1 oomph wise and it would be cheaper for you to get an R1 or similar instead of trying, though i think youl find that most of the time such power cant be used without being utterly illegal. And your cockadoodling about how it makes you manly to want it to give more power is laughably juvenile, which im sure why youve been given as much attention as you have.

you asked how to make the bike you're riding at 5500 revs faster.. you cant blame people for giving the obvious answer of use more revs

Wow, thought we were past the redundantly rude comments?! But none the less, you want to be a hero. Just to clarify I NEVER in my entire life COCKadoodled ........EVER, I dont have a clue what that even means nor am I asking for an explaination......lol. Moving forward I highly doubt my engine mods will be illegal IN MY STATE, but I appreciate your concern. I'm not here to argue, I just asked for some advice on H.P. and performance. I need not to repeat my self when I say I have had had it over 5500 a few times when needed. I guess if you want to copy and paste other peoples posts to this forum, then use them again on me as if I hadn't read them the first few times go ahead. The only thing I ask is dont use words like "cockadoodling" and dont quote me by saying "gutless" in your weird jargan because those words aren't even in my voculary. Oh, also if you know sooo much about SV's you'd know that there isn't a "POWER BAND" on my 09 SV650S motorcycle, but I could be wrong! Maybe you have the inline 4 SV model, but mine is a v twin ....lol. In conclusion, please dont post anymore of your semi agressive, feminine post here. If you'd like to say anything else do us all favor and just send me a message! Thank You

p.s I hope I havent "alienated", If I did I'm sorry:smt083

XOXOXOXOXO

Not the biggest mod ever, but pop the snorkel off the airbox, i found it seems to help it in the higher revs. Might just be a placebo but im pretty sure its a bit faster accelerating after 5-6k revs. Cost nothing so give it a go.

I agree with what others have said, its not a powerful bike and so will not out preform a R1 or such in a strait line no matter how much money you chuck at it! No replacement for displacement after all :)

Also any Man with a set of BALLS would want more powe,r nothing wrong with that and your full of $hit if you think you have enough power and never though about upgrades! you can never have enough POWER...lol.

Spoken like a true yank.

Now why have you ended up in a couple of 'sticky situations'? Squid on a R1 wanted a drag race? Yawn. Or just poor riding/obs?

Sort your riding out and utilize the 70ish bhp you have to the maximum instead of wanting to get the biggest bike you can get and posing sat outside a bar saying it has x bhp to anyone who questions it.

cockadoodling... not a definition as such but anyone with half a braincell can see its a metaphor(try a dictionary for that one perhaps).. you're doing it now... making noises just to to attract attention to yourself... i understand this is more of an american way of life so i apologise for you not being able to grasp simple things.

the sv does have a power band or peak torque.. and its around 7000-7500 revs

if you dont understand english jargon* (or spelling it seems) then perhaps you should find the U.S sv650 site so you can brainlessly high 5 each other. or better yet save your fellow countrymen who seem to have average intelegence and above the pain and buy a different bike. (i dont know if you noticed but this would have the added benefit to all of us of you disapearing)

still feminine? i dunno, perhaps you could ask one of the many members of the fairer sex on here about it, some have said the sv is a girls bike anyway.. perhaps thats why i like it if im feminine.

give me a few minutes before you reply.. i like popcorn with my entertainment and i think theres some in the back of the cupboard

p.s. (actually useful meaning..) i never claimed mods to be illegal... i was saying the power of a big 1000 is so much its difficult to keep the speeds legal.. i wasnt yet under the impression i had to talk to you the same i would to a child but i can adapt
