Guys, I'm taking a friend to do his CBT this Monday in Billing. Would you mind him coming on the ride out on a 125 or will this drag you all behind too much?

Anybody is welcome with any bike, 125's are no problem.

I think to invite him along on this occasion though would be putting him at risk. He will have done a days CBT training then be booted out onto the road to learn for himself. To then ride in a group of 10 more powerful bikes where a marker system keeps putting the fastest riders behind him, to be expected to follow and possibly participate in that marker system, he may ride faster than he's comfortable with as he feels under pressure to keep up, and from Northampton, to Long Itchington, round the rideout and back to Northampton will be knocking on 200 miles, which is a hell of a lot for your 5th day.

I agree, IMO too much for a very new rider.

Btw Col, will be 12 days not 5.

Oh, yeah, sorry I was thinking Monday 2nd was his CBT.

There's also some pretty challenging roads on the route with corners like this http://g.co/maps/wfycs. Just riding the bike he's got enough to think about for the first couple of weeks, he doesn't need to extra pressure a rideout like this would put on him. If it was an AR or something like that which is very structured and organised, dedicated markers, etc, he'd probably be OK, but this is more like a group of mates going for a ride than a structured rideout.

Tell him good luck for the CBT though Gaz, and if he want's go out for a run we can take him out somewhere local the following weekend?

Sounds good I'll mention it to him. I'm going to take him out as much as I can to be honest once he's done it but I see what you're saying.

Gig? What kind of gig? :smt034

And we got his bike by the way. Needs a couple of small minor things sorted but we have it. Today is his CBT (once he gets out of bed...)
