That OP letter has to be a spoof. No way is that for real. FFS!

I don't think it's a good letter of complaint, but as I've been hassled on several occasions by the same chap I have some sympathy with the OP.
The doorman has on more than one occasion attempted to stop me using the toilets even when I walk into the shop and put the empty Nero logo-ed cups in the bin right under his nose as he watches me.
I don't imagine anyone would consider the presence of a doorman either unreasonable or even unwelcome - however I really don't think they have the right man for the job.

Maybe worth a better worded letter of complaint, detailing an intimidation felt by a number of people on a number of occasions, signed by the Soho org members who meet at that cafe.

Or just create a new thread asking people for their experiences with him, and forward a link to Nero complaints dept.

For me that would be excessive, I have found the man in question an irritation but no more - certainly I've never felt intimidated by him, but my dealings with the doorman lead me to some sympathy with Macristo's complaint.
Clearly the OP and I feel differently though, I wasn't present when this incident occurred so I couldn't comment directly.

Obviously I wasn't there but I really don't think you have much cause for complaint given your disrespectful behaviour prior to his overzealous response.

May be worth considering how your response to a bouncer or any other staff member is likely to be taken before you end up as a smart-**** with a busted face.

I've worked in pubs and stuff with people actually being unpleasant... It's really not worth getting locked up for battering someone/threatening to batter someone over the use of a sh*thouse.

Or do you southerners pay your sewerage charges at pounds on the pint or something :smt081

What a w*nker!

P.S don't bother complaining to Neros, if you're that bothered then get him to do it again with witnesses, report him to the police and SIA.

I feel sorry for the bouncer. He's just trying to do a job, one that he never dreamed of doing as a kid. How can he ever tell his kids he's the doorman for the men's toilets? And then he has put up with cocky gits looking down their nose at him and being smart. And now he might lose his job, his kids will go hungry and his whole life could be flushed down the pan.

I'm going to write a letter to Nero's praising the bouncer on what a fine job he does ;)

I realise that Ian is attempting to provide a little humour, but as much as I may have understanding as to what and how such a task as Nero's bog bouncer may be accomplished, it most certainly could be done with better manners than it sometimes presently is.
I don't doubt that there are numerous persons who consider someone filling said role as being beneath them, and obviously I would not for a heartbeat say that such an attitude is correct, but, crashing back to reality, I would suggest that the ability to absorb this is an integral part of the task, and if that isn't possible then perhaps it's the wrong job.
