Re: Chain Socket sets?
waiting for a woman to apologise is seldom a productive use of time.

Re: Chain Socket sets?
Just tried adjusting the chain and realised it was mostly pointless as the chain is stretched to a ridiculous degree. Will be purchasing the DID Chain+ sprockets, If Mr Keating can lend a hand with rivetting and fitting ;D?

Re: Chain Socket sets?
If you and Mr Muscle can't get the front sprocket off, give me a shout!

Re: Chain Socket sets?
Yeah, nil problemo. I'll bring a bunch of large sockets, my tyre iron, angle grinder and the riveter. When we fail to get it off, Nathan can bring his breaker bar and big barsteward hammer. :)

Re: Chain Socket sets?
Don't cut the chain off before loosening the sprocket this time!

Re: Chain Socket sets?
Socket set ordered... now the waiting game.

Re: Chain Socket sets?
I've done chain and sprockets on a few SVs and don't remember the front sprocket nut being particularly difficult except for on the one where the chain was missing. What am I doing differently to you lot that have trouble getting the nut off?
I normally get steel sprockets and a heavy duty Izumi chain from wemoto. Had a renthal rear sprocket before and it was fubared in no time despite having a scottoiler and regular cleaning and checks. Good thing about the Izumi chain is it comes with a split link and a rivet link, i usually fit the split link and then ride to my normal bike shop and get them to fit the rivet link for me as my tool broke ages ago and I never bothered replacing it |
