one particular bike is not all things to all men[or women as the case may be] but IMO the new 675 looks somewhat Ducati[ish] and I much rather prefer the 650 but same with the 1050ST although I have a 955ST the new one just doesn't press any buttons for me Admitted both new models have better performance but unless you are a out and out hell raiser on the roads and not worried about the expense
the 05's are still very good and proven bikes with loads of good s/hand models about

I would recommend anybody to try a test ride on both and then decide,form your opinion and not take the press as gospel

it just aint for me but thats prob because im lanky and prefer suzukis. Picking up me new GSXR6 on march 1st cant wait. from west coast suzuki. Any guys buying a bike in scot go there. ace customer service and prices very good too. My uncle has placed a deposit for the new 675 but is changing to the new speed triple. gut doesnt agree.lol each to their own. (ive gotta admit that the 675 looks beautiful tho) and wish triumph all the best. andrew

My mate went from an SV650S to a T595 (the boiler model) as they are roomier for tall guys. He now has a beautiful silver Daytona 650 at the ripe old age of 20. The 650 is unbelievably planted in the corners, sounds cool, a nice manageable power hike from the SV and he's out in all weathers in it.




If i ever get the chance to tour the US and Canada, I'll be hunting down a RocketIII hire bike.

Sorry but any triumph apart from the bonnie would get me off my SV. Just got to get the finances sorted as I work in that rare place called british manufacturing and engineering industry.

Once I get a british motorbike and a british mountain bike I can do no more.

Got to say, I've seen the 675 and I can see why some might love it, but it's just to much like the rest, I can't see the styling being much after a year or two, I don't think it'll look good as a naked, but I'll reserve judgement until such time as they do it.

On the other hand the Daytona 600/650 is stunning, it's one of thoughs bike you can't mistake for anything else. If I was in the market for a ss600 class bike that would be my choice.

I loved the 650 too... Mainly because in yellow, it looked like a Pokemon. Superb chassis...Wasn't especially convinced by the front end compared to the GSXR bits, but still excellent. Wouldn't say no to one...

Northy, have you rideden one? I did the other day and it was terrific, I didn't notice any front end problems. Don't believe all the stuff you read.

Yup, took one out for a half-day test ride last year, put a hundred or so miles on it. I didn't say there were any problems, just that the front end is noticably inferior to the GSXR750's Showas. Then, the GSXR front end is very good indeed.

I can't say as I ever recall reading anything saying there was a problem with the front end, in fact...
