(1) Really ? I'm only just over 5'10" & I can get both feet flat !! Maybe the bike you rode had the seat set to 'high' :?:

Huh. I found it high. And I have long legs proportionately. Em, I am actually talking about the Adventure though, so, yeah, maybe like you were saying, tricked about ride height.

And, yeah, it is an extremely stable bike, low speeds, high speeds, corners, solid as a rock.

As you know the bike is not my bag at all, but it must be nice to have a new bike good 4 u :)

Here, looking at the pics, I see it has ABS, tested it out yet??? Does the leaver or forks pulsate when it is in action?

Only had to brake once 'in anger' so far - can't say I noticed any pulsating going on 8)

I suggest you give it a handful tonight ... it'd be the first ting I was curious about 8)

I thought BMW boxer engines weren't fully run in till 12,000? Can't be sure, but I'm sure I read they drink a bit of oil and make a couple of BHP less till 12K and a chap in work who used to have one said the same thing. That's not to say that you can't use full revs now though...

IIRC the run in period was the standard 600 or so, but I cant really remember. Anyway, people do say they are not well run in until 10k or so. I've not noticed anything much different about mine (16k now). Still uses oil. Lots of theories about that, they say if you baby them for first k or so they will always use. I thrashed mine and still do and it uses some.

Keep an eye on it SV, Ive been caught out a few times. I use the if its full on the sidestand its about half on mainstand trick and it seems to work. If its anything less than full on sidestand you need to check properly. Works for me.

Oh, and never felt the pulsating and Ive braked hard on numerous occasions...I knew there was a point to posting this. Its juts doesnt seem to happen like it does in a car (its scary in my SEAT).
Have I ever braked that hard you say? Yep! Without the brakes this thing has I would have definitely been embedded in the back of a car in Austria whereas I stopped an inch or so short all in a straight line. And I grabbed a handful, like your not meant to.

Oh (number 2) you dont feel the pull from the drive unless you are stationary and rev it.

The Adventure owner at my work reckons that using only the mainstand cut his oil use- backs up the suggestion that it's partly caused by oil seeping past the left rings when it's left on the sidestand...

So, my mate with the Adventure, had a Taxi pull out in front of him, and he really reefed on the brakes, and said he more heard the ABS than felt it. You also have this mad front swingarm thing instead of "normal" telescopic forks. That might (well, does) damp a huge amount out.

Like Rich, he also said that he might very well have been pulling bits of bike out of the side of a Taxi if the Brake Boys from Bremen hadnt been playing the clever tricks, but who knows.
