i thought the control box produced the heat?

so you mean to wire the grip straigt to the battery??

northwind 15-01-07 12:30 AM

Yep. The grips make the heat, the control box controls the power. Mine are basically wired directly to the battery, with a switch in the way.

so that would mean choping all the wires :?

i think what i will do first is try to get a multimeter from somwhere nudge nunge   & see what readings i get from the wire i connected to the batterry with & with out the box

but i would also like to try the older style dail box..if the fitting are the same which i would think they are

if i remember rightly the male multipin connector going into the control box, can be plugged into one of the female connectors of the grips... so you can try each grip independently, by plugging the multipin connector into each grip. in turn... then, here comes the magic bit.

plug the male multipin connector (that would normally go into the control box) into one of the grips... and use scotchlock connectors to splice the other grip into the live feeds of the first grip..... wrap the whole lot in a heap of insulation tape, to stop the scotchlock connectors corroding, and jobs a good un (and a tad bodged i admit)

And you havent cut any wires, should you wish to return them further down the line.
