Track days..... oh no.. just frightful. all that noise and childish banter and bravado

COUNT ME IN. !!

Castle coombe for me please

I mailed CC asking about the noise rules:

weazelz asked:

is it acceptable to use a non-original exhaust, so long as it passes the noise requirements?

CC said:

It is acceptable, as long as your bike can comply to the noise test,
noise limit of 105db(A) which is measured at half metre from the exhaust
outlet at three quarters of maximum revs.

I suspect that the current R6 & gsxr600/750 fall foul of the "three quarters of maximum revs" rule, given their redlines

I think I would chance using my road-legal CCC can with the baffle in, I think that'd be highly unlikely to fail their test

I've ridden all three tracks on my LC when it was in racing trim. Personally Castle Combe was the most fun to ride, nice combination of bottle corners and chicanes. Plenty of opportunities to upset riders on 'big' bikes.

Pembrey is also good fun and camping over the night before turns it into more of an event. I can recommend the Phil Bevan organised days (if he still does them).

Llandow is fun but is more tight and twisty, it won't give you much of a chance to get upto big speeds, but it depends what floats your boat. I enjoyed it on the LC. It was kept in fairly good trim when I was there last and offered a good day out.

If cost was no object than that's the order I would pick them in. None of them are bad circuits and you'll have fun at all of them.

Castle Combe and Pembrey are likely to be close on price, Llandow will be cheaper.

Not voted as I won't be joining you on track but I'd come and spectate with my camera.

, cost is £125, but if your bike fails the noise test, they will refund 75% of the booking fee. (so be warned, no race cans on the race track)

CC are very strict on noise, rightly so for the survival of the track. When I was there a friend on a ThunderAce wasn't allowed out because the EXUP valve had stuck, making the bike too loud.

You will also need:

Quote:
Riders need to have a full face helmet, and either one or two piece leathers. If they are two piece, then these must zip together either fully or partially. Boots and gloves must be of leather construction and carry no metal studs. It is strongly recommended that additional back protectors be worn whilst on the circuit.
