One note of caution to those considering this conversion. The OP says he re-routed his throttle cables out the frame to the right of the headstock in order to make them reach the now higher bars. If you do this you introduce two very sharp bends into the cables, and I personally wasn't happy with this, especially the angle at which they approach the throttle bodies. I've been trying various options with mine, including different sets of cables from the Suzuki range as I wanted to stay with standard parts, but have yet to find a suitable fix. I know if you buy a conversion kit longer cables come with it, and it's looking more and more as if 'm going to have to go down that route.

Very different forks between thou and 650. Put the whole front end on ;-)

Why are you all looking for top yokes? Just drill the S model one and bolt on some risers.

looked into doing but buying risers and having it drilled would work out more expensive than buying a second hand naked top yoke.

:D

Some of the different yokes have different offsets just to be awkward though. Drill bit at engineering place probably about 50p, hardly going to pay for the PnP on a new yoke :-P

I looked at having an engineering place drill the top yoke as not 100% happy to do myself, something to do with hanging off bars at 70mph which I had drilled! lol

As for the yokes having a different offsets how would you know as the part numbers are the same?

:D

Ask someone who knows more about pointies than me for that one...

Surely an engineering place isn't going to want much to drill 2 holes, it's 2 or 3 minutes, max.

I would rather buy a yoke that was designed specifically and strengthened in the right places for risers than risk anything with a standard yolk by drilling and tapping it .

A fair point. I've not had any problems yet though, nor heard of any.
