Re: PS3 v XBox.
For me... PS3 but only because I've grown up used to playstation and for that reason I'm a bit of a fanboy, played a bit of HALO around a friends and couldn't get used to the controller, but no doubt you will eventually. The blu ray player and free online play is a bonus! Although I've heard and believe that xbox live is a slightly better online gaming experience.

Ps3, but never been on an xbox.

Re: PS3 v XBox.
My xbox for games and the arcade stuff on xbox live
My PS3 as a front end for my media server and my crazy gaming rig PC for when i feel serious |
Re: PS3 v XBox.
PS3
1. controller layout and ergonomics just make sense, never 'got' xbox 2.I refuse to pay monthly (or annually) for the privilege of using the console I spent lots of money on online. It's like buying a car and being told you have to pay £20 a month for a license to carry passengers. 3. Built in blu ray is a nice touch and backward compatibility (although they've limited this these days) Still play games I played a decade ago! |

PS3
Only use it as a media player, but its very good at it, drive is full of divx movies, mp3 albums etc. |

Don't get time to go on it much these days (another reason why I refuse to subscribe to online) I go months without touching the thing. |
Re: PS3 v XBox.
^^^all the above plus the PS3 has also had a software update which has enables it to play BluRay 3D discs (movies & games) so if you have a 3D tv or intend to jump on the 3D band wagon the PS3 is all ready to go ;)

You pay the £40 a year so that you can get a good, reliable & fun service. Miles ahead of PS3. |

Can you SOIN an xbox and get some money back if you don't play it for a bit?:) I used the analogy I did because I see it more as though they've restricted some of the functionality of the console you've given them lots of money for, effectively ransoming quite an essential part of it's use. Why can PS3 host it for free but Microsoft (with their limited presence in networking, servers and the internet) cannot? |
