The Police do themselves no favours whatsoever with public relations do they!!!???!!!
I used to find it difficult enough to keep my mouth shut when I used to get pulled over for a 'Routine' check in my Cossie,(looked standard,no Chav-Cr*p),there was nothing they could ever 'do' me for,so on I went as the car was perfect. Most of us know the risks in riding bikes with bald tyres or defective brakes etc. What danger is there from having a loud exhaust? None, actually,IMO,makes a bike more noticable to other road users. Smaller No.plates,ok,if you did a hit 'n' run it MAY be difficult to read your plate if you got up and rode off,but lets face it having one is hardly a reason for a fine, especially if its readable from 20Metres! Revenue generation,is the game we are talking about here! Makes me SO angry!!!! |

Talking about ' the attitude test' I think it's something the police themselves have to brush up on.
Why do they insist on making stupid comments. A guy I know was stopped andd unfortunately he had forgotten to renew his insurance. Before anyone starts , he is not moaning as it was his fault but he genuinely missed the date. I did the same last time mine was up for renewal but took the day off work as my road tax need renewal as well so not just a question of sorting the insurance over the phone. Anyways after he realised what he had forgot to do and obvioulsly kicking himself , the policeman then told him whilst writting out the paper work 'you are supposed to have insurance while riding a bike on the road' . :?: Did the policeman just fail the attitude test? Cheers Ben |
I think you're entitled to complain. You weren't presenting a danger to anyone, I'd complain too if I was you. So what if your plate was technically illegal. Have we really got to the stage that we care so much about the 'evil' of small plates? Look at some of the US and Canadian ones we see from time to time on here, is there any evidence that they have buggered off from an accident? No.
I think it's sad that a police officer might get home and say to their other half 'I had a good day today. I nabbed a biker with a small plate.' How petty and small minded. |

I haven't read all the threads so I might be repeating.
Isn't it a known fact that all this number plate action is to allow the new number plate recognition cameras to do their awful job properly and isn't the penalty being increased from the £30 to £60 and three points to take in the crime of camera evasion. All you whingers out there who blatently break the law on exhausts and plates etc and then moan because you think it is a little law and shouldn't apply really should grow up and take responsibility for your actions. We all make mistakes and have to acknowledge them and move on. I know it is unpalitable but the roads are no longer a place to enjoy ourselves, the rules and limitatations are spoiling it for one and all. |
