Re: Handle Bar Change out
Managed to fix my cables this weekend. I tried the right side of the frame route again as suggested by the OP (just in case I was cracking up) and the angles are definitely to extreme. It may be that my front end (GSXR USD with Renthal bars) is slightly different to his but there is no way the cables would have lasted long at those angles.
I sorted it in the end by making a new bracket for the front throttle body so that the cables can be mounted at a slightly different angle (actually only the top cable). This then allowed me to run the cables up the front of the tank behind the headstock, just to the left of the left hand tank securing bolt, and across to the throttle tube. I've also got 10mm risers on the front of the tank, and no snorkel, so there is plenty of room. This works a treat with no tight spots or acute angles. |
Re: Handle Bar Change out
Hey, first post ever, so here goes:
I recently bought a K6 naked and ive so far got: a tail tidy crash bungs, belly pan and hugger. Im currently trying to fit some renthal Streetfighter bars but looks like i need to route the throttle cables through the righ side of the frame. How do you get them through the left side of the frame, doesnt seem to be enough clearence to push them back without kinking. |
Re: Handle Bar Change out
I'm not sure you could use the stock cable. Maybe you need to change to cable fro the naked bike? I switched cables when I did the opposite, ie naked to sporty.
