Got the SR125 through the MOT for one of the kids. Next the other one, then the EN500, then the 750.....
expensive...

HAHAHA @ my friend. He was installing a performance upgrade on his carbs and this happened. All in the name of one nasty screw that wouldn't come out after trying for 2 hours all the normal conventional methods. Ended up having to destroy the plastic cap over the carb (whatever that part is called)

Stop laughing and buy/make your mate a better work bench. Bedroom furniture is not normally the most stable of surfaces to work on.

ManMango 04-10-14 07:27 PM

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Still you cant help but look at that and think... '0_o WTF is going on here!'

You are right though work bench required for sure first time I have been there but for future visits will certainly help put something together a bit more practical :)

Fitted my new HI mount exhaust to my K5 SV650 today. The bike is progressing well.

Love it.

£29.70 a time.

One bike needed dust seals, the other a new clutch master cylinder, the EN needs its fork seals doing, as does the 750. All mounts up as you know.

Washing machine. Parts list costs more than a new machine. Blast.

Spent a few hours today stripping the rear down and removing the 'snow shovel' and installing my Evotech Tail Tidy. Even removed the pillion footpegs and installed a exhaust hanger.

Fitted a new clutch push rod after it bent and snapped in 3 pieces. Easy as pulling it out and pushing a new one in. Can't wait to get back on her tomorrow

Yep, replaced it and there was no power getting to the wheels so had a poke about and found the rod in pieces. Some one told me the clutch had gone, thank god it was just a £9 part from eBay

Wonder if they'll do a large format 5" version for people like me?

Oil change on the VFR today. I miss the ease of access on the SV. Loads of screw's and clips to remove one side of the fairing.

What have you tinkered with today?

Changed full exhaust on dads car after it snapped just before going in for retest after it only failed on a ball joint and a wheel baring.... Fixed those then on the way to test exhaust snapped... Typical

We've just done an oil change on CMSD2's Tiger. Getting the sump guard off and on was proper fiddly. He's lucky his Debbie McGee style assistant has tiny hands.

Nothing fun, only adjusted the clutch cable on the SV. Made my London commute a bit easier

Managed to get a V8 Disco running (after being drowned in a big puddle - submerged!)

Lesson learnt today: when spraying some fuel into the air intake to entice it to start beware of backfire that can ignite said bottle in hand and create a few "exciting" moments!

Over been trying to tune the TV to the winter hill transmitter rather than the Wrekin. Mixed success. Gained some channels and lost others.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Cleaned the oil strainer on the CBF125, the crankcase gasket came of about a mm at a time, took a few hours to remove all of the gasket, never ever had one that was such a pain before! I was lucky the gasket was bonded to the right hand engine casing because I would have cried if it was attached to the bike and I had to try and get it off that!

Andrewsmiths front forks. I passed Bibs the bits as he needed them and looked on in awe as the master performed the task.
