Hey, I'm Lisa and new to bike forums.

I am taking my bike test (crash course) in June, hopefully on a 500 but will have to see once I start learning to ride.
I've taken good advice from a friend who is also a bike enthusiast to get a SV650S as my first bike so hopefully it will be good for me as a first bike. I haven’t bought it yet but will do closer to my test.

I love the look of the new SV560S fully faired in grey and the sound of the vtwin exhaust lol. While I love the looks and sound of it I am still looking to learn more about the SV and also need to buy leathers and everything else that a newbie needs to ride.

Any advice is welcomed and I look forward to hearing from you, Lisa J

Remember the SV can be easily lowered with not much handling penalty, and it's quite cheap to get a seat sculpted and gelpadded, so you end up with a better seat than OEM which is up to 1 1/2" lower.

hiya lisa yes i have sv650 and i too am only 5"2 so we struggle for bikes low enough for us with out getting a cruiser type, i have had mine lowered and forks lowered and i have a cut down seat on her too and still only just touch the floor lol short and stubby girls say i am!! but she is lovely to ride now i got her sorted for me and this bike is easy to do that too, with out much cost. :smt041i sat on a few b4 i settled for this one, i have a friend smaller than me and she rides sv650 too so if she can manage then we can lol :D

Well I went to George Whites and thought I would come away happy ...
The guy in there told me that I should really get a ER6 :smt103!! I did tell him that the look of it didn't appeal to me as much as the SV. After an hour in there and sitting on a few bikes I thanked him for his advice and left :(. I am still looking around and will have a look at a few other dealers in the area... I will get one lol :) and thought I would save looking for leathers etc... for another day after being plugged for an hour about the ER6 :nomore:, while trying to look at other bikes mostly the sv650 sport lol

they must be trying to shift them, they are ok for commuting i feel, but i would never have one asa toy to go and play on.

wise choice little one, keep looking for a good SV.

i do like the er6 but not the indicators, loved the er5 cos it was wot i did my test on and it is small enough to get feet to floor, it is personal choice at the end of the day and u have to get wot u feel comfy on, after all it is going to be yr toy; hate pushy sales men/women!!!!! There is not any rush just now so take yr time and have a good look at as many as u can and sit on as many as u can, i did it like that, had cb400 but hated it as it was too heavy, and i could not get to floor properly, dint like it at all, love the sv but u have to get wot is right for u, can u get to the bmf at peterborough, it is not long now til that is on, lots of bikes to sit on and look at, and loads and loads of lids and leathers... i have got loads from there over the years. 8-)
