Nope, over reading again! What was the tuning you had?

the speedo i was using you calibrate by the circumferance of the wheel. a little while ago i rode with a sat nav in my pocket two for doing some tests. when i got the bike to 120 on the speedo, i would slow down to make sure that was the maximum speed, checked the sat nav and it read 118, so its not far out to be honest. in terms of mods, the heads have been ported, needle and shim kit for the carbs, stage 2 i think, cant remember. usual air filter, exhaust etc. but i have got rid of a lot of the weight. ive got a lighter shorter rear end on it, and re wired the whole bike and got rid of electronics which i dont use. that surprisingly got rid of 2kg!. it probably wont be able to do it now though. desperatly needs a service, carb balancing etc.

or one of those recall devices that show your top speed ?
Yeah, that must be the answer, safer than actually taking a picture at 186 mph

I'm sorry mate but neither a SV650 or a SV750 will get you to your alledged top speed! Tried, tested and proven!

Looks like both your instruments are over reading. I would like to point out also that a civilian SatNav/GPS system isn't as accurate as people may think.

It would if he revved it in top , got a nice top speed , shut the throttle off til the needle rested and took a quick snap

i wouldn't be worried about what the sat nav says, i don't they're particularly accurate and think how long it takes for the signals to get from bike to satelite and back to give you that reading.
