If you are looking for 'good for a giggle' then there is Seaquest

I quite enjoyed Seaquest when it was on. Can't say I'd be impressed now- as the general consensus is "utter rubbish".

I used to enjoy Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Great show that was.

Hardware- good scifi (not space though)- sadly not on DVD in the U of K (think it's out in Europe under the name M.A.R.K 13).

Was Space- Above and Beyond any good?

Big up for Babylon 5, 'twas my favourite TV series back in the day...

Star Trek: First Contact is the best Star Trek movie apart from the new one, which I think pips it.

Galaxy Quest is superb, under rated (though all these have been mentioned so far).

If I accidentally come across APOLLO 13 on tv, I HAVE to then watch it to the end.
And EVERY TIME I'm biting my nails - "Are they gonna make it?! Are they?!"

It's set (mostly) in space, there's one explosion but there aren't any dogfights (that I've noticed, anyway).
