im pretty happy with my suspension at the mo- its standard i think
just not to keen on the fact that its too hard - im sure it just needs tweaking.

Along with Sid Squid to provide some help to Rictus01. I'd like to thank both of them for their patience and putting up with 6 useless mechanics. Good day in the end, good laughs and proper handling bikes at the end of it. :)

Yes well the CBR comes with proper suspension as standard (lucky bugger). I would hazard a guess at a little less front preload to give a slightly softer feel at the front (though doubtless will be savaged by Rictus and Sid Squid for making such a ridiculous suggestion :lol: ).

Had a good day yesterday myself, everyone seemed happy with the results.

I think we done, both faired and naked, k3's/4's & a k1 naked, k2 with pre-load adjusters (faired) so just about covered all the veriants.

Explained some of the techi stuff surrounding suspension, how to measure it, what it does and so on. all the bikes got a fairly conservative setup, but a noteable improvement. the guys after being shown got on with it and done the bikes themselves.

Everyone got involved and did an impressive job, I must say. Well done!

We covered some of the simpler things as well, like basic tool handling, which you may thing is easy, but if you've never been shown , how are you going to know?, and it can make things go a whole lot smoother.

To be honest, and Ian said it to me as well during the day, it takes a lot longer allowing someone to do the work, rather than just doing it for them, but that was the whole point

At the end of the day everyone had done their own and assisted on a couple of others, so should know what goes on in the front forks.

Big thanks to Ian (Sid Squid), for his help (I think he enjoyed himself as well), no major dramas throughout the day, you couldn't ask for more.

I feel it was a worthwhile use of my time and may undertake another in the future.

Well according to Rictus, now every other person in the forum should be able to do a change of fork springs in the forum. I wouldn't want to be the one that will test out that theory. But looking back at it, changing the springs was relatively straight forward and painless, well apart from the fact that we ran out of "spacers" and had to go and buy some new "spacer material".

Just a quick note, quite impressed with the Maxton springs (hadn't used them before) but they come with a useful amount of added pre-load on the spacers, as standard.

I think it was BillyC's bike that had them (K3 or K4 naked) linier springs, not progressive, but that's a whole other issue.

Didn't have to add anything to them. someone had thought about it when making up the kit. Nice.
